The Geo lab facility is reaching an advanced stage of completion here at the Spaceport UK Mars base. In the screenshot left Aso stands before the workbench that shows a rock specimen, screen and miccrscope. Eventually we intend to have a collection of Mars type rocks on display, however this is just the feasibility stage. The actual rocks are of course Earth equivalents of what we expect to find on Mars, based upon the remote sensing results from both landers and orbiters that have made it to the red planet.
In this next screen shot, you see the outcome of touching the rock. First the planet Mars has rezzed as a 3D globe with a pin indicating the rocks origin. The central main screen talks about the significance of the find, while the microscope has loaded a slide and magnified the image onto the computer monitor to its right. While not shown in this screen shot there will also be the offer of a notecard.Though we are still a way of completion, the Mars base is well underway, so please keep in touch by teleporting over to Spaceport UK.
Bye Aso
