UK Rocket Park

As part of our inspirational drive for students here at astro21c, we decided it would be of some value to include examples of the many successful rocket designs that have been developed here in the UK over the years. These include small sounding rockets to the mighty Blue Streak as part of our sim here at Star Beach Island. At the moment they exist as life size exhibits, though we shall include suitable information links in the near future.

Worksheets for Rocket Scientists

Our class workbooks are now reaching an advanced stage of completion as far as the instruction materials are considered and we are now starting to develop practical worksheets for the students to complete. This aspect of the session has as its principle focus the use of ILT resources, in this case a spreadsheet that we are using to carryout the calculations for the three phases of a rockets flight. This will 1: allow students to confirm their understanding of the lesson and 2 allow them to readily model the flight of any engine and rocket body size, proving the value of ILT in the support of serious engineering ventures, and removing the toil of trawling through multi-stage calculations; an encouragement in itself we feel.

Positive feedback from ebay

In support of our ambitions as a company to promote and inspire the vision of the UK space industry in UK schools and colleges, our move into trading science, science fiction and fantasy books on ebay is proving successful. It may seem strange at first site to link fiction and fantasy with science and technology education, but from a perspective of inspiration these things certainly have their place. To get on with the main point of this post, we now have a 100 Positive Feedback certificate for our trading from ebay, which will of course find its way into our virtual trading endevours at Star Beach Island in Second Life
