Cosmic conflict arrives at Spaceport UK

For those of you that have visited Spaceport UK you will know that much of the emphasis here lies not surprisingly in British achievements in space. And if you take a look around at the launch vehicles and spacecraft developed in the this country and the track record of success that they have, then clearly we have a lot to celebrate.
It did occur to use here that it would also be worthwhile featuring some of those less physical success stories that have originated from the these islands, namely from science space fiction and for a first offering we have started with Dr Who, and of course his arch enemies, those mutant psychopath half creature half machine indigenous to the planet Skaro, the Daleks. As you wander around Spaceport UK you may find yourself coming into contact with either of these, though be warned, in true character fashion, the Daleks will attack if they sense that you are in range.

New arrival centre

One of those finishing touches for Spaceport UK has been the creation of an arrival center for visiting avatars. Well the other day I finally got around to deciding on a design and location. Having created the place though, my next task was of course to decide what to put inside. I settled on teleports for one the main features and these are placed in two boards that arc around the lower window area. I also decided to launch a new blog for visitors at http://spaceportUK.blogspot.com and located a live blog board as a means of getting feedback and comments. A nice idea this, but of course I am going to have to moderate the blogs as they are not simply comments that I can moderate before publishing. Notice how droids always seem to get in the picture, strange stuff.
