The most recent addition to our SL SIM at Star Beach Island has been the Great Britain in Space, satellites and Spaceprobes display. At first you may think this is another slide slow that occupies a corner of our satellite area. Well its bit more than that, because on approach the main screen will show a timed sequence of web pages accompanied by the rezzing of a 3D spacecraft rotating model.
At the present time the feature includes Ariel1 – Britain’s for satellite, Prospero – an all-British satellite put into orbit by the way using an all-British rocket Black Arrow, and last UoSat-2 made by Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL). We shall of course be adding more to the display, with contributions from enthusiasts welcome, so be sure to landmark our sim if you are a space fan.
